EAST-NMR - Enhancing Access and Services to East European users Towards an efficient and coordinated Pan-European pool of NMR capacities to enable global collaborative research & boost technological advancements

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a key technology for research in the modern Life Sciences, with an increasing impact on human health. This technology is unique in new areas of molecular systems biology providing detailed insight into protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions.

TRANSNATIONAL ACCESS TO NMR

Transnational access to NMR is devoted to outreach to new users, both those in Eastern-Europe, and those who will benefit from state-of-the-art technology in solid-state NMR.

Applications for gaining access to EAST-NMR Research Infrastructures (RIs) can be submitted continuously through an online proposal management system by filling in the ONLINE ACCESS FORM.

Travel to and accommodation at the RIs will be reimbursed.

PARTNERS

EAST-NMR consortium comprises 21 academic and industrial partners working together to achieve a Pan-European pool of NMR capacities. Eight NMR Research Infrastructures (partners 1-8) will make the necessary transnational access possible (especially to solid-state NMR) for research groups in Eastern Europe.

Israel’s EAST-NMR regional meeting

The 2010 regional EAST-NMR meeting in Israel will be a joint meeting with the annual meeting of the Israeli Magnetic Resonance Society. The meeting will feature plenary talks by international speakers, and poster presentation sessions covering various aspects of magnetic resonance spectroscopy and imaging. NMR of proteins: structure and dynamics

Presentation of reaserch results on NMR studies of structure and/or dynamics of proteins. Review lectures are also welcome. 10 - 16 short lectures (ca. 30 min each).

EAST-NMR Satellite Meeting - 18th Euro QSAR

EAST-NMR Satellite Meeting - 18th Euro QSAR (Discovery Informatics & Drug Design) (http://www.euroqsar2010.gr/53/article/english/53/46/index.htm) This NMR-oriented satellite meeting is jointly organized with the 18th European QSAR meeting (19th -24th) September 2010, Rhodes, Greece. This event is held in the framework of the EU FP7 project, under the auspices of University of Patras (UPAT), that is the Greek partner, in the EAST-NMR Consortium. The NMR meeting will start after the closing of the main 18th EURO QSAR meeting (http://www.euroqsar2010.gr), the afternoon of Friday, the 24th, and it will continue next day (Saturday, 25th of September). The meeting intends to present the experimental tools and the opportunities provided by NMR today to the medicinal chemistry and biological community, such as the opportunity to chemists/biochemists and biologists to exploit this European program, for accessing European Large Scale Infrastructures. The topics of the meeting, will focus on: * NMR in Structure and Systems Biology & Drug Design * NMR-driven modeling of biomolecular complexes * NMR and metabonomics A draft program will be announced soon. 1st Young Investigators Meeting
